Helicopter over Prague? Nothing special. Helicopter above Casablanca carrying a heavy load? Now that is different …
Quite recently a new Emerson CQ4036 chiller was installed on the roof of our headquarters. Because of the weight of this cooling unit – approx. 4.5t – and its dimensions – 5.0x2.2x2.5m – a helicopter was needed to help install it. One day (on May 10th) early in the morning a helicopter flew over Prague with this “valuable” load.
The connection of the fourth chiller will increase the total available cooling output of our system by 330kW and thanks to its modern design it will also be more efficient.
Our technical department is experienced in installing similar equipment on a building roof (chillers, diesel generators, etc.) using a helicopter. In spite of this the installation had to be carefully prepared and planned in detail to avoid any risk during transport and locating it.
This time both the screw compressors were transported separately because of the maximum carrying capacity of the helicopter so the helicopter turned up three times above Casablanca.
The cooling equipment was transported by Aerocentrum air.
